How do I enter a child’s date of birth into the KVS Portal?
The admission form necessitates the inclusion of the child’s exact date of birth as it cannot be modified later. As per regulations of the KVS, the minimum age to admit in Grade 1 is 6 and the maximum age is 8 by April 1, 2023. For students categorized as “Differently Abled”, the upper age limit is extended by two years. Hence, the date of birth range accepted for kids enrolling in Standard 1 for the academic year 2023-2024 is between April 1, 2015 and April 1, 2017 for those who are not part of the “Differently Abled” group. Conversely, the date range accepted for those in the “Differently Abled” group is between April 1, 2012 and April 1, 2016.

To be eligible for the registration process, applicants must fall within the specified age range. To confirm this, a JPEG file (no larger than 256KB) of the proof of birthdate must be uploaded to the online form. It is recommended that applicants keep a copy of the scanned document on file. For Std. 1 admission, the birth certificate must be issued by the relevant registration body, such as a Notified Area Council, Municipality, Municipal Corporation, Village Panchayat, Military Hospital, or Defense personnel service records. If a Vidyalaya allows provisional admission, the original document of the date of birth must be presented at the time of enrollment and will be returned after being verified.
