AFD CSD Online Shopping Website Stepped on Second Year!
AFD CSD Online Portal has successfully completed one year of great service to Defence Personnel and Ex-Servicemen! The AFD CSD Portal has Launched on 8th January 2021. The AFD CSD online shopping website has completed one year of service and stepped on 2nd year! The AFD CSD online web portal is selling AFD-I items to Armed Forces Personnel and Ex-Servicemen. The costly items, such as Cars, Bikes, Scooters, and electronic items are included in the AFD-I category. The AFD CSD online portal has sold over 81000 cars in one year! And also sold over 48000 two-wheelers within a year!
The Department of CSD (Canteen Stores Department) is under the control of Defence Ministry. The headquarters of CSD has maintained 34 CSD Area Depot and 3794 Unit Run Canteens located across India. The CSD has purchased more than 5700 products in various categories for the customers. The AFD (Against Firm Demand) items are categorized the costly items such as two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and electronic products.

One-Time Registration in AFD CSD Portal: All beneficiaries of CSD have to register on this portal of afd.csdindia.gov.in/ for booking their products online! This is a one-time process. After the approval of the AFD CSD Team, the CSD customer can enter the portal with their own login details!
How to register in AFD CSD Portal?
The registration process in the AFD CSD portal is very simple for CSD Smart Card holders. Before filling up the registration form in the portal, collect some important details to be required while registering are given below.
- Name of the applicant (URC Grocery Card Name)
- ID of the applicant (URC Grocery Card 19 Digit Number)
- Chip Number of the applicant (URC Grocery Card 16 Digit Number)
- Mobile Phone Number of the applicant
- Employment Status of the applicant
- Organization of the applicant
- Date of Birth of the applicant
- Date of Enrollment of the applicant
- Date of Retirement of the applicant
- Entitlement Category of the applicant
- PPO Number of the applicant
- ESM Number of the applicant
- PAN Card Number of the applicant
- Email ID of the applicant
What is the ID number of AFD CSD?
19 digit alphanumeric no. starting with GA/GB/GC/GE like grocery card id GA01052027551000J00. The third last is the alphabet not the number.
What is the chip number of AFD CSD?
16 Digit No. (5312120004689336). Given on reverse of grocery card at the bottom right. Also given on grocery bill.

After successful registration in the AFD CSD portal, you may get an approval message within a week or two! You will get messages on your registered mobile phone and registered email id. The login details will be sent to your registered email id after approval from the AFD CSD Team. If there will be any problem with your registration details, the AFD CSD Team will inform you accordingly! After getting the login details from AFD CSD Team, you can visit the AFD CSD portal by entering the user name and password immediately! While entering the user name and password on the login page of the AFD CSD portal, the portal will send OTP to your registered mobile phone. Eligibility Purchase Criteria of AFD CSD Portal
Generally, all CSD Smart Card customers are eligible for purchasing the AFD (Against Firm Demand) items in the AFD CSD portal. But, there are some restrictions and conditions to purchasing AFD items for AFD customers are given below.
AFD CSD Car Purchase Eligibility Rank-wise
The eligibility conditions are revised from 2022 for Armed Forces Personnel and Ex-Servicemen.
Armed Forces Personnel (Serving and Retired) & Widows: Pay Matrix Level 3A, Level 4, Level 5, Level 5A, and Level 6
Cost of the car: Rs. 6 Lakhs excluding taxes
Periodicity: The first car while in service and the second car after retirement.
Armed Forces Personnel (Serving and Retired) & Widows: Pay Matrix Level 7, Level 8, and Level 9
Cost of the car: Rs. 7 Lakhs excluding taxes
Periodicity: First car as an OR, second car on promotion as JCO, and third car after retirement.
Armed Forces Personnel (Serving and Retired) & Widows: Pay Matrix Level 10, Level 10B, Level 11, Level 12, Level 12A, Level 13, Level 13A, Level 14, Level 15, Level 16, Level 17, and Level 18
Cost of the car: Rs. 15 Lakhs excluding taxes
Periodicity: Once in Eight years
Civil Defence Ordnance Officers: Pay Matrix Level 11, Level 12, Level 13, Level 13A, Level 14, Level 15, Level 16, Level 17, and Level 18
Cost of the car: Rs. 15 Lakhs excluding taxes

AFD CSD Bike Purchase Eligibility
All CSD Smart Card holders are eligible to purchase the bike or scooter in the AFD CSD portal as the following periodicity.
All Serving and Retired Armed Forces Personnel and Serving Defence Civilian employees only can purchase of two-wheeler once in four years.
AFD CSD Electronic Items Purchase Eligibility
All CSD Smart Card holders are eligible to purchase the Washing Machine, Fridge, Mobile Phone, Laptop, Desktop, and Air Conditioner in the AFD CSD portal as the following periodicity.
All Serving and Retired Armed Forces Personnel and Serving Defence Civilian employees only can purchase the above items once in four years.
AFD CSD Portal Online Payment Procedure
All AFD CSD beneficiaries are paid the amount for the AFD items only through their own bank account. Payment from any third-party account will not be accepted and the order will be rejected by the AFD CSD Team. And there will be no Cash Transaction at all! If the cost of the AFD item is above Rs.10 Lakhs, the beneficiary would be given an option to split the payment into 2 online payments to overcome the limitation put by SBI bank on the maximum amount that can be transacted through net banking.

In case you choose Bank Transfer mode, Please download the e-challan generated by the Payment Gateway that will be mentioning the virtual Account number, IFSC code and the exact amount to be deposited by NEFT/RTGS. The VCN generated in e-challan is a 16-digit account number. The first nine digits are the number and the remaining is IFSC Code (YESB0CMSNOC). The CSD beneficiaries can take a printout of the e-challan to your bank and request Bank to do NEFT/RTGS exactly as per the details mentioned on the e-challan. Please note that each e-challan payment is valid only for one transaction and if the amount remitted is not as per what is mentioned on the e-challan, Payment Gateway will reject that transaction and you will get a refund back in your bank account.
