History of Central Pay Commission in India

Once in ten years, constitute Central Pay Commission for Revising Basic Pay, Allowances, and Retirement Benefits for Central Government Employees and Pensioners is a regular practice in India. The tenure of the current 7th Central Pay Commission is 2016 to 2025. Recommendations of the next 8th Central Pay Commission may be implemented from 1.1.2026.
