AICPIN for August 2023 for DA Calculation from January 2024
The Labour Bureau, under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, has recently released the August 2023 figures for the All India Consumer Price Index Numbers (AICPIN-IW). These numbers, which serve as an indicator of inflation for industrial workers, have shown a decrease of 0.5 points compared to the figures from July 2023. The AICPIN-IW for August 2023 is reported to be 139.2 points, with a base year of 2016=100 and 1960=100. Based on these figures, it is anticipated that the Dearness Allowance (DA) will be adjusted in January 2024.
The current AICPIN for August 2023 stands at 139.2. This decline of 0.5 points in the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) represents a decrease of 0.36% compared to the previous month, while there was an increase of 0.23% between the corresponding months of the previous year.
To calculate the expected Dearness Allowance (DA) for January 2024, the data from the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPIN) for the period of July to December 2023 will be utilized. This calculation process will be concluded by December 2023.
